1. Information we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and a Google account identifier.
- Connected channels. For each YouTube channel you connect we store its channel id, handle, and an OAuth refresh token (encrypted at rest) so we can act on your behalf when you ask us to.
- Video metadata. We cache the editable metadata of your videos - titles, descriptions, tags, visibility, category, and version (etag) - to power the editor and the live preview. YouTube remains the system of record.
- Edit history. A record of the bulk edits you apply, so you can review and revert changes.
- Communications. Messages you send us for support.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- operate the service and keep you signed in;
- read and preview your videos through the YouTube Data API;
- apply the edits you explicitly confirm, and let you revert them;
- detect, prevent, and investigate abuse;
- send transactional emails about your account; and
- improve and support TubeDesks.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your channel content to build or train third-party advertising profiles.
3. YouTube API Services
TubeDesks uses YouTube API Services to read and update your videos. By using TubeDesks you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
You can review or revoke TubeDesks's access to your Google account at any time from Google security settings. Revoking access immediately stops TubeDesks from reading or editing your videos.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use first-party cookies and local-storage entries that are strictly necessary - to keep your session active and to remember preferences such as your active channel. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:
- Microsoft Azure - application hosting and database.
- Google / YouTube - authentication and the YouTube Data API.
- Email providers - transactional email delivery.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
6. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Cached video metadata is refreshed from YouTube and removed when you disconnect a channel. The encrypted refresh token for a channel is deleted when you disconnect it or close your account. When you ask us to delete your data we do so within 30 days, except where we must retain records to meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data from your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. You can also revoke our access to your Google account at any time as described in section 3.
8. International transfers
TubeDesks is hosted in the EU on Microsoft Azure. Where data is accessed from outside the EU, it is transferred under appropriate safeguards.
9. Security
We protect data in transit with HTTPS and encrypt channel refresh tokens at rest. We use short-lived access tokens and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your account safe.
10. Children
TubeDesks is not directed at children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We will announce material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
